Gates has been located in Mid-Town Memphis producing high quality Architectural Millwork for over 100 years. Gates, the company was purchased by North Memphis Lumber Company in 1955. George Buzard, who was employed by North Memphis, bought the company in 1985. A family business, his son Bobby is responsible for Sales and Operations serving Vice President.

In 1929, Gates Lumber Company announced the opening of new display rooms on South Bellevue — featuring one of the “largest and most complete stocks of lumber and millwork ever exhibited in Memphis.”

Nearly 100 years later, craftsmanship, quality materials, and customer service are still at the heart of what we do.
