Never assume a clear topcoat makes epoxy UV-proof.

100% solids epoxy gives you build because what you put down stays down — there’s little to no material lost to solvent evaporation.

That makes it a strong choice for the body coat when you need thickness and durability.

But here’s the mistake: epoxy itself can still amber from UV exposure.

A UV-stable topcoat can help protect the system, but it doesn’t magically make the epoxy underneath completely UV-resistant.

Know your products. Build the system correctly.

Never walk a broadcast floor with cleats after the sand goes down.

Those cleat marks can stay in the system — they’re not just going to level themselves back out.

As you continue broadcasting sand, the floor builds more thickness and texture. But once that broadcast is down, treat it differently than a flake floor.

For most broadcast systems, let it cure and come back the next day to finish it properly.

Know the system. Don’t create a repair before the floor is even finished.
