Updates for this industrial sculpting robotics warehouse project in Brooklyn, New York, as the final phase wraps up.

Our Geotechnical Engineer, Ryan Zhang, P.E., value-engineered an alternative solution to the original design, which specified micropiles. The identification of soft soil conditions led to the selection of helical piles as a more efficient and cost-effective alternative.

Soon, the facility will support stone carving robotics and overhead crane operations used to maneuver sculpting stones weighing up to 25 tons throughout the building.

We are looking forward to seeing the finished result!

Test helical piles were installed in the early phase for a new residential build in the hamlet of Bridgehampton on Long Island, New York.

Subsurface conditions encountered during SPT borings consisted of brown silty fine sand with organic material and trace gravel (SM), brown well-graded fine to medium sand, fine to coarse sand, and gravel (SW), and brown fine sand with gravel (SP).

Granular coastal soil profiles like these are well-suited for helical pile deep foundation systems due to their efficient installation and predictable performance.

Project plans were reviewed and value-engineered by our Geotechnical Engineer, Ryan Zhang, P.E.

Nearby, the Great Elephant Migration sculptures are on display, offering a striking visual reminder of elephant conservation and the importance of protecting wildlife.

Construction on this bayfront home in Stafford Township, New Jersey, required lifting the house to accommodate work below as part of a structural foundation upgrade.

Tight site conditions called for precise, low-vibration installation. As a result, the foundation was stabilized with CHANCE SS5 helical piles - highly effective in variable soil conditions common in coastal environments.

Swipe to see the progress and the installation in action.

This industrial warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, will soon house stone sculpting robots.

The warehouse is being upgraded to accommodate heavy machinery: including a new foundation, a crane system, and equipment pads.

Our Geotechnical Engineer, Ryan Zhang, P.E., value-engineered an alternative without compromising performance. While plans originally called for micropiles, the identification of soft soil conditions made helical piles a faster, more efficient, and cost-saving solution.

Ultimately, the warehouse will be a home for these stone carving robotics and large stones for sculpting, weighing up to 25 tons.

Michaelis-Bayswater Park in Queens, New York, is undergoing major improvements as part of the NYC Parks & Recreation reconstruction project, with completion expected in 2027.

The park’s layout and infrastructure are being upgraded to include an enlarged walkway, new park buildings, improved water access, and enhanced stormwater systems.. all while meeting environmental and historic preservation requirements.

Earth Anchoring assisted the design engineer in developing the helical foundation system. More than 800 CHANCE helical piles are to be installed over the next two years - selected for their low environmental impact and predictable capacity.

CHANCE University, field training & certification in just one week.

Phil traveled to Patchogue, New York, to train and certify the installer for a New Construction project. On-site, he oversaw the installation of piles and caps, answered questions, and provided real-time feedback on psi to torque correlation and rate of install.

Although it was raining, the certification needed to be completed to keep the project on schedule.
