Alex Anderson, of Mora, MN, formerly of McGrath, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was 28 years old. Alex was born on May 16, 1997, to Robert and Chanin Anderson. He was raised and grew up in McGrath until 2008. Alex then moved to Mora and graduated

Update- This will be a long process. We are now in the cleanup phase. An agreement has been reached on the inventory and rental equipment so you will see Myself and others working in and around the building.

Our Rental Department had outgrown the space that was available at our current location. Prior to the fire, the decision was made to find a separate location for the Rental Business. The fire happened and then the Fluegge’s property came up for auction. The decision was made to move forward with the purchase. There is not a set time frame for when rental will begin operations at the Fluegge’s property, but it will not be before spring.

As for the Hardware Store, the insurance company has said to expect the process to take 12-18months. We are still working with them on whether the building can and should be repaired or if it needs to be rebuilt. We continue to thank all the members of the community for their support.

On Tuesday night there was a fire in our Hardware Store. It was after hours and no one was injured. Thank you: Mora, Ogilvie, and Braham Fire Departments, Welia Health EMS, and the Kanabec County Sheriff’s department for your response and dedication to the safety and well-being of our community. We want to sincerely thank all our staff and all the members of our community who are not just our customers, but our friends and neighbors for so many years. We will be closed until further notice. But we plan to get this cleaned up, rebuilt, and be back up and running as soon as possible. We are proud to be part of this community and look forward to the future. Thank you everyone for your support and understanding!
