Let's learn to sew and make a fun quilted pillow. During this class, kids will learn how to select fabrics, how to sew a 4 patch quilt block, how to quilt the block with a sewing machine, and how to create a pillow with an envelope style closure. All fabrics and materials, including the pillow form, are included with the class registrations. Machines and sewing notions will be provided for each student. Recommended ages are 8-13.

Learn to Sew! Bring that machine you haven’t touched and let’s get at it!

Sessions start June 8th!
This class is for you if:
* You have never seen or touched a sewing machine but want to learn more, or
* You have attempted to sew but have never quite gotten the hang of it, or
* You have a machine and used to sew but have forgotten how to thread the needle and wind a bobbin, or
* You have been sewing for years, but you want to explore different techniques and stitches

Class 1: How to thread your machine, Review the different stitches, Make a stitch sample
Class 2: Best tools and notions, Work with different fabrics, All about seam allowances, Practice different hemming techniques
Class 3: Learn about zippers and create a fun, practical project

Bring your machine (including all accessories and instruction manual) or rent one at the store.

Required Materials:

Sewing machine with all accessories and user manual*
Sewing notions (scissors, thread, pins/clips, seam ripper)

Learn to Longarm! June 10 2-5 pm ONE SEAT LEFT!

During this course, we'll learn the basics of how to load a quilt top, batting, and backing onto the frame. We will also learn how to operate the Bernina Q24 longarm for freemotion quilitng as well as computerized quilting. This course is a prerequisite for renting the machine in the store. Once you complete this course, you can reserve time to quilt your own quilts.

SEWING 101 is BACK!

June 8, 15, 22. 2-4 PM

Welcome to the world of sewing! This 3-session class will guide you through the basics of how to use a sewing machine. If you have a sewing machine, bring it. But if you do not have a machine, one of the floor models will be provided for your use during class.

This class is for you if:

We had so much fun at our Spring Retreat that we couldn't wait a whole year to do it again. This mini session is an all-encompassing retreat so there will be optional projects available to practice either your sewing skills, machine embroidery skills, or both. The retreat will be held at the Mon County Center, 270 Mylan Park Ln, Morgantown, WV.

Let's get ready to sew some hoodies! Grab your fabric and your sewing machine and join us for this class! Your fabric can be anything that measures at least 52" x 70" - an old quilt, a vintage sheet or tablecloth, linen fabric, the possibilities are endless. Lory will guide you through prepping your pattern, cutting your fabric, and sewing the hoodie together. Full size patterns are included with the class registration fee. Sizes range from Small through 3XL.
