Wood moves with the seasons, and over the years treads can loosen and rub against the risers, the stringers, or the nails holding it all together. Not quite as spooky as a haunting, but it can still wake you up at 2am. If your staircase is due for new treads, give us a ring and see what’s in stock. Heart pine flooring starts out golden and amber when it’s first put down, but it doesn’t stay that way. Give it a few months of daylight and it deepens into copper and reddish brown tones that only get richer from there. The floor you lay this fall is going to look even better by spring.
