Preparing Your Driveway for Winter

Even though the South isn’t prone to the same type of severe winter weather they see in other parts of the country, winters can be tricky especially with ice storms. Ice makes it difficult to drive especially on slick driveways. There are some things you can do to help prepare for those types of icy situations before it starts! How to Prep Your Driveway

We were able to finalize our delivery to Americares in Arden, NC. Along with with what we were able to collect, Silverstreet Lutheran Church Youth also sent along items. Jamie and Rhonda Johnson also collected and sent items in honor of their daughter Liza. What a wonderful show of support from so many people.

We have been amazed again at response of our community. We are once again going to take supplies to NC. This trip we will be going to the organization Americares in Arden, NC. They not only have items on site for people they also help to distribute to those in need. Great job Newberry, another 10 pallets of much needed items heading out tomorrow.

We made it and delivered all of the great supplies sent. All of the pallets were placed in an old Fred’s Store in Burnsville. There are many great items there all free for those in need. If you know of anybody in and around that area please tell them to go to 677 W E U.S. Hwy 19E Bypass, Burnsville, NC 28714. The Army is set up there passing out supplies.

The kindness and generosity is overwhelming. We are truly speechless at what this community has done to help others in need. We have 16 pallets or clothes, jackets, blankets, food, medical supplies, hygiene supplies, cooking supplies, and the list goes on and on. Whether it was the items you brought, money you donated, or the time spent helping pack and box these things up. Your thoughtfulness and compassion will not go unnoticed. That said we have 2 trucks packed to the brim headed to Burnsville, NC in the morning. Wish us luck.
