Memorial Day… a time to pause, reflect, and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Wilkes County Hardware is closed today for the holiday, but we will reopen Tuesday May 26th with regular store hours. Wishing everyone a wonderful Memorial Day.

Memorial Day weekend… it’s going to be a bit wet this weekend but don’t forget to stop by Wilkes County Hardware for some great local BBQ sauces. This weekend might be a great time to make a list, do a few little indoor DIY projects… Wilkes County Hardware will be open until 3pm Saturday and closed Memorial Day Monday. Gardening season is underway!!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻

Let’s talk about tool handle replacement today.

Our radio slogan says that “we can put a handle in anything”… yes, we can do that, but I’m going to clarify a few points about tool handle replacement and our policies around this service we offer.

1. We have noticed over the last several years that Tool handle replacement is for customers who wishes to PRESERVE the tool they have. Many times our customers choose tool handle replacement instead of purchasing new, they are choosing to do so because it was a tool passed down from previous generations or a tool they value/use a lot.

2. It can be more cost effective to not replace the handle and purchase a brand new tool, in some instances. BUT, our tool handle replacement customers VALUE the tool more than anything, so they replace the old handle with a new one.

3. Our tool handles are made out of the strongest types of wood… Hickory and Ash. The quality is evident and you get what you pay for.

4. Tool handle replacement is a service, therefore we do charge a fee for the labor involved in making that new handle work smoothly for our customer and often a bit of effort/time spent doing this tool handle replacement.

5. If you have a questions about pricing, please ask before leaving it with us to repair. We try to be very up front about the total cost of the tool handle repair and we can’t undo a repair that has been completed.

Let’s talk 🔑 about keys… A very popular service that we offer everyday to our hardware store customers. You have a key to duplicate, chances are we have the key blank to match!!

Not all keys are created equal… most automotive keys now have a computer chip in them, as time has changed, so have we!

Did you realize that we can now do several styles of chip keys???? WCH can cut basic house keys, car, boat, RV, ATV… and more!!! Don’t forget to stop in and get an extra copy of that key made today!!!
