A little extra character goes a long way.

For this tight stairway in a historic home, we installed a custom metal wall handrail paired with a historic-inspired handrail bracket. The design keeps the railing simple and functional while adding a detail that feels right at home with the age and character of the house.

Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.

When an older home has a tight stairway, sometimes you have to get creative. 👏

For this remodel, we designed and built a custom railing that opens like a gate—making it easier to move furniture in and out without sacrificing safety, style, or functionality.

It’s wild seeing the Bob Funk mansion being demolished. At the time, this was probably the biggest project we’d ever landed.

One of the coolest details was the railing—every single baluster was actually a full-size newel post.

The story we were told is that our salesman mentioned the spacing wouldn’t meet code because the balusters would be too far apart. Bob’s response?

“It’s okay… I own Yukon.”

Whether the story has grown over the years or not, it’s still one of our favorite shop legends. Hard to believe a house like this is now coming down.
