Some of the risks around a water truck happen when it isn’t moving at all.

Routine inspection and maintenance can require operators and technicians to access elevated areas of the tank. And one of the most critical moments can be the transition from the ladder to the top platform.

Safer equipment should make the operator’s job easier…not harder.

Since 2020, MSHA has reported 129 accidents involving contract truck drivers at mining operations, resulting in 5 fatalities and 99 lost-time injuries.

It’s a reminder that heavy equipment safety depends on more than what happens behind the wheel. The equipment itself should support safe, predictable operation.

When thousands of gallons are shifting back/forth, up/down, right/left… STABILITY matters.

Between 2018 and 2024, MSHA documented 42 tipping or rollover injury incidents involving trucks during work operations:
• 14 involving over-the-road style trucks
• 28 involving off-road mine haul trucks

Water trucks face an added challenge: water is a dynamic load. As a truck accelerates, brakes, turns or travels across uneven terrain, the water payload shifts with it.

Say hello to Melinda Clayton, our Sales Coordinator in the Sales/Parts Department! With 21 years at Klein, Melinda has become a familiar face to our customers and enjoys the daily interactions that make her role so rewarding.

When she's not connecting with customers, Melinda loves weekend road trips, gardening, spending time with family, and playing Mexican Train dominoes with her mom and sister. One accomplishment she's especially proud of? Transforming a 12' x 32' storage building into a beautiful tiny home!

Melinda has a heart for helping others, and what she loves most about Klein is the team she works alongside and knowing they're building what she proudly calls the best tanks in the world!

23 fatalities. One risk no operator can afford to overlook: visibility.
Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has reported at least 23 fatalities since 2003 involving large mobile equipment striking smaller vehicles, with restricted visibility and blind spots identified as concerns in these types of incidents.

On an active mine or construction site, operators are constantly watching for people, vehicles, equipment and changing conditions.

What they can see matters.
