Understanding why hoses fail is the first step to prevention.
The most common reasons for hose failures:
➡ PRESSURE SPIKES - Pressure that exceeds working limits, even momentarily, can weaken the hose.
➡ ABRASION - Rubbing against equipment, floors, or sharp edges wears the cover down.
➡ IMPROPER ROUTING - Tight bends, kinks, or routing through pinch points stresses the hose and fittings.
➡ INCORRECT FITTINGS/ASSEMBLY - Mismatched thread types, improper crimp specs, or poor assembly are a common failure point. A hose is only as good as its connection.
➡ CHEMICAL INCOMPATIBILITY - Incorrect chemical pairing can cause swelling, softening, or cracking.
➡ UV EXPOSURE - Hoses break down with time. UV, ozone, and temperature extremes can accelerate aging.
