B&B Site Construction has been pouring floors for years. Here's what nobody told them about Type IL.

That slab can dry out from the inside while the top still looks wet. Fog it, burlap it, spray it, do whatever you want; none of that reaches the middle. Then it cracks, and guess who gets the call.

So on this pour we quit guessing. We put E5 Internal Cure and E5 Liquid Fly Ash right in the mix, and the cure is in there before the truck backs up.

If you're tired of eating callbacks on mixes you didn't pick, message us. www.e5nanosilica.com

**ACI doesn't know how to cure Type IL cement. They put that in writing, and they're still blaming you.**
Type IL is in nearly every truck on the job site right now. Here's what the industry's own curing guide, ACI 308, says about it: curing methods for this cement are **" being studied." ****
Read that again. They're still studying it while you're out there pouring it, finishing it, and signing your name to it.
Their curing table doesn't list it. Type IL-only answer for blended cement; it's one word: "Variable. That's the exact number you need, and it's the one they won't give you.
And when that slab scales, crazes, or cracks? The cement producer only answers for the powder, and the committee answers for nothing. **That leaves you, the guy who never picked the cement. ****
They tell you to fog "properly" and "frequently," with no interval and no number.
They say strength doesn't prove a slab was cured, then end curing at 70% strength anyway.
They admit there's no standard test for the surface, the part that decides whether a slab lasts.
They can't tell you how to cure it, they can't test whether you did, and they'll still hang it on you.
We tore ACI 308 apart chapter by chapter, using nothing but their own words. **Enough is enough.**
This is just the start. We'll be releasing a walk-through chapter, with ACI 308 and our breakdown side by side.
If you pour, finish, or cure concrete, watch this before your next Type IL pour:

**Want the full breakdown documents? **** Send us a message or comment below, and we'll get them to you.
Quit taking the fall for a guide that doesn't have the answers. How are you ever going to be able to trust the docugoing to ment when they say they've got it figured out? A lot of trust has been broken in the last few years with the release of this material; sometimes it can't be rebuilt.

Fully hydrated concrete… yet the remark says “insufficient curing.” So, which is it—did the concrete cure, or did the curing process somehow miss the memo?

A lot of people have been asking, “What’s your ACI 308 review really about?”
For me, it comes down to one question: Are we giving finishers and contractors clear direction—or just handing them the responsibility?
This isn’t stopping at Chapters 1 and 2. I’m taking a full, in-depth dive into all six chapters of ACI 308, examining the curing guidance and what it means for the people doing the work in the field. The review will be released in installments, giving us an opportunity to work through the material and have a meaningful conversation along the way.
The promo goes live https://www.youtube.com//featuredYouTube today. Take a look, share your experience, and follow along as the series unfolds. Let’s get this conversation started.

With all the changes in concrete chemistry, what tear-out ratio are you seeing on your jobs?

What went wrong with this concrete?

Someone sent me this photo and asked for my opinion. After asking a few questions, the problem became clear: water was held back without properly accounting for the aggregate’s moisture content. Then they added water reducers to compensate—and the concrete was over-plasticized.

Have you ever seen this happen on a job? Watch the video and tell me what you think in the comments.

The concrete problems we’re dealing with today were predicted 75 years ago—and people ignored the warnings !!!!!!.

This video reveals what experts already knew, why no one listened, and how those decisions are still affecting us today. I learned a ton while making it, and I’ll show you exactly where to find the evidence so you can investigate it yourself.

Watch the whole thing. You may never look at concrete the same way again.
