It's been two years nearly to the day since the world shut down and life changed so much for so many of us. And while baking and sharing bread with our neighbors in Queen Village started as a way to pass the time while trapped in a tiny South Philadelphia rowhome, your support turned this little venture into a two year trip that went far beyond our wildest dreams.
Over the past few weeks, though, we've reached the very difficult decision to close our operations at Metuka Freshly Baked. Opening a small business is a huge undertaking even without an ongoing pandemic, and one from which we have learned more than we ever could have learned in any other way. We've looked for any possible solution to the challenges we're facing, and we see that the current constellation just can't allow us to do what we love the way we love to do it.
An enormous thank you to Cohen & Co. Hardware - a perfect little shop that introduced us to their loyal community and made a home for us in their hearts. Without them, we wouldn't have made it a single day in this business. We hope you will all continue to support them.
We want to thank all of you for your patronage, concern, and kind words through all the ups and downs. It's been a real trip. And hopefully, when the circumstances are right, we'll see you again.
