52 Axe & Tool

52 Axe & Tool Learn to love the axe. I lost an old Plumb hatchet I used often that had belonged to my Grandfather about two years ago. The solution? all still meant something.

I couldn't find a suitable replacement with any new hatchets made today. I found an old hatchet at a flea market that was in pretty rough shape, but was made when companies cared about their reputation, and quality control, customer service, and "made in the U.S.A." A little research, picking the brains of a couple of old timers, and a few trips to the hardware store later, I'd restored myself a n

ice replacement. Then tool restoration became a stress reliever,my little piece of zen after a bad day at my real job, and a way to spend time with my son. These are vintage/antique tools. They have been well used, and have been reconditioned for another lifetime of work. They are not made to hang on a wall, they're made to work. These tools were made when men worked with their hands from sun up to sundown, and sometimes longer. People took pride in their work. They didn't have to go to the gym to stay in shape, because the worked, they sweat, they bled for their craft. All restoration work is done by those same standards. Axe and hatchet heads are refurbished and sharpened by hand. Original handles are reused when practical. New handles are hand picked to assure proper grain alignment, and top quality. In addition to offering restored tools for sale, I can restore that old axe, or hatchet of your grandfather's so it will be around for your grandson to use.

Only day off from my real job this week, but I found a little time to work on some axes.

It's been a long, busy winter. I haven't had much time to work on any projects lately, but I have several in the works that should be finished later this spring.

When I'm in the timber and the deer aren't moving, may as well start on some new projects.
