I call these pumps, ๐Žโ€™๐ฅ๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ & ๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐ž. They have been built this way since forever. They get the job done nearly all the time and the patch is full of them! This one does have a material upgrade! Brass Nickel Carbide Barrel, trimmed out in Stainless Steel & A Monel Pin Grooved Precision Spray Plunger! Sheโ€™s blinging! ๐Ÿ˜

This Pump weโ€™ll be going to its new home the first of next week!

THBC Tubing Pump

IN โ€œLAYMANโ€™S TERMSโ€!

The Working Barrel is essentially used as a section of the tubing, allowing them to move more fluid than your standard insert pump. The hold-down is a separate part, sometimes installed in the seating shoe before delivery, and the traveling assembly attaches to the sucker rods with a mechanism to retrieve the hold-down if the valves need repair!

This Pump was in overall decent shape considering its run time and the corrosive environment that it was in! Aside from a severely corroded valve rod, pitted ball & seat, a beat out cage, tagged clutches and a mountain of iron sulfide, it held up to the conditions pretty well! Where the owner did themselves a real favor was investing in a better Barrel!

The Brass Ni-Carb Barrel is definitely the Cadillac of barrels as far as most of us are concerned. Itโ€™s For sure worth the extra cost & goes Along way in eliminating pump failureโ€™s due to Well conditions!

Structural Integrity, Sealing Performance, Application Specific Design and one of the most important reasonโ€ฆ Standardization!

As you can see here, we are still running them โ€œanalog threadersโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚! They get the job done though!

The P.A. (Pressure Actuated) plunger is built for harsh, abrasive wells. It has 20, 40, or 60 ring grooves and a loose (-005) fit so larger debris can pass without damaging the pump. The rings help lift fluid, sand, and scale as well as other solids. On the up stroke they expand to wipe the barrel clean. This improves pumping efficiency and makes the plunger ideal for corrosive, abrasive, and high temperature wells.

Sometimes they come in 2โ€™s!

With just a few differences, I like this one just slightly better than the last! This pump has a bottom discharge valve between the Standing Valve & the Barrel!

The valve redirects a percentage of the pumped fluid to flow around the outside of the pump, between the pump and the tubing wall. This keeps fresh fluid moving past the bottom of the pump, which helps prevent dirt and debris from building up and sticking the pump. It also reduces damage caused by corrosive fluids on the outside of the pump. Stagnant fluid ainโ€™t good for nobody!

Weโ€™ve gone through our stock of Heat lamps. Ive got one left! We do have a couple cases of Clear Heat Lamp Bulbs & a few rolls of insulation on the shelf. Iโ€™ve got plenty of heat tape at the moment. 3ft, 6ft, 9ft & 12ft! Getโ€™m while you can!
