Late night installs would be a lot harder without Kevin. 👏

This May, we're spotlighting Kevin Fitzgerald, an installer who shows up long after most clock out and delivers every time. His teammates noticed and nominated him for both our and recognitions.

Kevin, thank you for the unfailing dedication you bring to each job site.

How do you feel about vertical blinds? 🤔

They may have a reputation for being bulky and outdated, but in the right setting, vertical blinds can provide greater control over light and privacy than many fixed shade systems.

Are they making a comeback?
The answer is yes — but not the way you remember them from the 90s with shiny PVC slats.

The new approach:
• Textured fabrics like linen, woven, and sheer materials
• Softer movement that feels more like drapery
• Improved light filtering and acoustical performance

Wide windows, large commercial spans, and sliding glass configurations are where vertical systems genuinely outperform fixed shades. Our recent installation at CBRE in Waltham, Massachusetts, is a great example of that in action.

AI is changing how we research and specify. But it’s not changing the judgment that brings clients a lasting shading solution.

Hear from Colin Blackford, VP of Technical Design, as he shares what artificial intelligence is getting right, and where human expertise still wins.

1,000 projects. A decade with Contexture. And a bourbon collection that speaks for itself. 🥃 This month, we're spotlighting Steve Lacey, our Commercial Sales Manager and one of the most experienced partners in the business.

Since joining us in 2015, Steve has collaborated with general contractors and architects on over 1,000 projects, bringing field knowledge and genuine relationships to every one of them. When he's not working, you'll find Steve throwing steel-tip darts, watching horror movies, playing Nintendo, or singing karaoke. He also escapes to Aruba every winter, and honestly, we don't blame him!

Thank you for everything you bring to the team, Steve!

By 2050, Massachusetts aims to have 80% of its energy provided by carbon-free sources — but Boston is planning to go further by becoming 100% carbon-free. 🌎 A key piece of that puzzle? The buildings we work in every day.

Daylight harvesting systems, which use natural light to offset electric lighting and automatically adjust based on available daylight, can dramatically reduce a building’s energy consumption. In commercial buildings, lighting represents one-third or more of total electrical energy costs.

Through the design and installation of daylight harvesting systems, Contexture is positioned to help new builds meet high energy performance standards and support existing buildings through deep energy retrofits.

🏀 In honor of the NBA Playoffs tipping off, we’re spotlighting our recent installation at Miami Country Day School, where we took to the rafters and installed custom acoustic paneling in their gymnasium.

With the addition of custom-fit acoustic wall panels, teams can better hear the play calls, the coaching, and the crowd — without the intense echo.
