🚨 Are You Ruining Your Torque Wrench Without Knowing It? 🚨

Most riders spend hundreds (or thousands) on tools… then unknowingly destroy the accuracy of their torque wrench.

🔧 Tuesday Tech Tip 🔧

✅ ALWAYS store your click-style torque wrench at its LOWEST torque setting (not backed all the way off)

Why?

➡️ It relieves tension on the internal spring.
➡️ Helps maintain calibration accuracy.
➡️ Extends the life of the wrench.
➡️ Prevents costly over-torqued or under-torqued fasteners.

Here’s another one most people get wrong…

Using a torque adapter?

📏 If the adapter is positioned at a 90° angle to the torque wrench, the effective length DOES NOT change, so NO torque recalculation is needed.

📏 If the adapter is inline (extending the length of the wrench), the effective lever length changes and you’ll need to recalculate your torque setting using the proper formula.

Get this wrong and that 25 ft-lb spec might not actually be 25 ft-lbs.

The reality? Modern dirt bikes are loaded with aluminum components, magnesium covers, and critical fasteners. Guessing isn’t a strategy.

A quality torque wrench isn’t just a tool…
It’s cheap insurance against stripped threads, broken bolts, damaged engines, and expensive mistakes.
