Humboldt Sawmill is a proud, new member of the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC), a leading home builders’ organization and advocate for thousands of building industry leaders who are committed to a better future for California by building communities, creating jobs, and ensuring housing opportunities for everyone.

BIASC will be hosting their annual Building Industry Show (BIS) September 2–3, 2026 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Indian Wells, California. Humboldt Sawmill will be exhibiting at the front entrance of the event with our Mobile Showroom, a custom outfitted Mercedes Sprinter Van filled with redwood pattern stock, a small pergola display, mock fire pit, TV, and even a refrigerator and cabinetry. For anyone attending the show, we look forward to seeing you there!

Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Companies hosted the West Coast LBMA group at our facility in Scotia, California on August 18th and 19th.

This Redwood University tour gave the participants an in depth look at our timberlands, sawmills, and fish exhibit, and offered them a new appreciation for everything that goes into making 2x4’s and 2x6’s!

We sincerely appreciate the time and effort on the part of the participants to make the trip to Scotia, but also our staff for making it all happen!

Your old fence called, it wants a redwood makeover. 📞

This Walnut Creek homeowner finally decided to give their home an upgrade after being there for 2 years and added this redwood fence surrounding their home.

The choice of redwood was intentional, not only because of its natural strength and durability, but also because they wanted to choose a locally grown product and support the local economy.

Together, Humboldt Redwood Company and Trout Unlimited are working to restore the North Fork Elk River.

From improving fish habitat and water quality to road rehabilitation and erosion reduction, this collaborative project is helping support the long-term health of the watershed.

The 2026 Sunset Idea House Malibu features Humboldt Sawmill redwood cladding on the exteriors and soffits, and a large redwood timber pergola overlooking the home’s birds eye view of the Pacific Ocean.

The redwood cladding and soffits were finished with three coats of Benjamin Moore exterior stain in a dark black shade. The effect is striking and modern. But when the sun sets, the rich beauty of the natural redwood color shines through to give the home a spectacular glow from within.

When Chuck had to rebuild his 35 year old redwood deck, there was never a question about what material he was going to choose. Redwood was the clear choice.
