We will be closed this Saturday.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scribner's former Mayor, Dennis Baumert, who served our town from 1984 to 2006.

Due to lack of business on Saturday afternoons and so we can spend time with family we have changed our Saturday hours from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Due to Clay having a Dr Appointment this afternoon and Hoge's having to be somewhere the store will close at 5pm today (Monday, April 20th)

So we are home! We got the choice to come home a day early with Madonna having so many discharges tomorrow and Saturday. So we got home at about 11:45 this morning. It feels amazing being home and in our own bed tonight! With that being said....Clay and I will be at the store tomorrow the normal hours of 8am to 6pm. Feel free to stop in and visit. We are going to be closed Saturday so we can relax and enjoy Easter weekend with our children and grandkids.

We will be back to mostly normal hours next week other than when Clay has physical therapy as he cannot drive so I will have to take him. So please continue to watch this page for postings on when we might be closed for that.

We again want to thank everyone for the continued prayers and support. We cannot even begin to explain how much it means to us and helped us.

Due to the Hoge's having a funeral visitation this afternoon, the hardware store will be closing at 3pm today. The store will be open normal hours tomorrow, Friday April 3rd.

Clay is doing fantastic. He got his staples out Monday afternoon which has helped improve his mobility on his right side. We are still set to come home tomorrow. Yesterday marked 3 weeks since his accident.

Once again we want to thank Jo and Leland for all they have done with running the store as much as they could while we have been away. We also want to thank everyone for your continued prayers and support.

Once again Clay had another amazing day in all his therapy sessions. He continues to amaze me every single session as he does what they ask and better than expected.

We got his official discharge date which is Friday, April 3rd. Good Friday at that! We both can't wait to be home. He will have outpatient therapy 3 days a week after we get home. And he will be spending most days with me at the hardware store as he won't be allowed to be home alone for awhile yet.

Once again we want to thank everyone for all the continued prayers, encouragement, and support.

Clay accomplished getting on and off a 4wheeler today. He walked without his walker the whole time he had physical therapy and occupational therapy today. He even walked through the sand and gravel at the horse farm without his walker. They have upgraded him to independent status in his room which means he dont need assistance from me or the nurses to do things in his room like get out of bed, go to the bathroom, etc. So another amazing day by my incredible husband. He is determined to be home by Easter. He also is off majority of meds other than tylenol 4 times a day, a muscle relaxers at bedtime or as needed, a nerve med at bedtime or as needed, and Tramadol as needed. He has only been doing Tramadol in the morning before therapy. This man is unbelievably strong.

We want to thank everyone for all the continued prayers and support through all of this. He will still have lots of recovering to do once we are home, like outpatient therapy 3 days a week and surgery on his C4 in 2-3months. He cannot return to work for a minimum of 6 months.

Clay is moving through rehab like a rock star. Today he walked with out a walker for a ways during Physical Therapy. He pretty much has everything mastered just have to build his muscles back up since he lost so much muscle mass while being in bed not moving for over a week. For every day of no use it takes 3 days to gain that muscle back. He also got to ride the action track wheelchair like the one pictured below, as it helps build leg muscles when driving it in the standing position. He was excited that he got to take it off roading and off curbs.

The prayers are all paying off! His pain has been very minimal during everything.

This husband of mine is beyond determined. Another amazing day! He learned how to walk up and down stairs today. He is mostly using a walker to get around. He does have a wheelchair to use in case he is worn out, and will have one when we come home just in case. We no longer need a nurse or two to get him up and transferred as he can do it with my assistance so they signed off on that today. One step closer to going home. Wednesday we will be going on an outing to a horse farm so he can groom horses and learn to get on and off a 4wheeler as that is something he wants to be able to do before going home as our aminals are are down hill from our house. That way he can ride on the 4wheeler with me driving and be able to get to all areas of our property and isnt confined to our back patio, front porch or inside. He is beyond determined to be home by Easter weekend! And everyone's says they do not see why he wouldn't be, unless he gets stubborn and decides to do something totally on his own that he isnt allowed to do and falls. But he is listening to everyone and being very cautious as he just wants to go home. Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since his accident so we both want to be home.

Please keep the prayers coming!

Clay stood today and walked a long ways with a walker. He is doing amazing and the physical therapist is amazed at how well he is doing. He is down to being a one person assist with transfer from the bed to wheelchair or vise versa. Cause they dont want him walking super far without the therapist just yet.

He really enjoyed have 4 of our children and their families here most of the afternoon. Lots of time spent outside at the playground with the granddaughter. We also spent time playing pool, air hockey, putt putt golf, darts and arcade games with all the kids. Lots of conversations and laughter.

Tomorrow will be a long day with the first day of 6 hours of therapy. Super proud of my husband for his determination to get home. His pain has been very minimal.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Clay is determined to be home by Easter Sunday!
