After nearly two months out West, our Central Region concrete paving team is heading home!

On Sept. 30, the team completed the final three-mile stretch of machine paving at the Lookout Pass project on the Montana-Idaho border. The milestone wrapped up work that began in early August and brought together team members from both our Central and Mountain regions.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this major project across the finish line.

Parade season is still going strong in the Midwest!

Our Sioux City, Iowa, team was proud to take part in the recent Celebrando Siouxland Parade, helping celebrate the diversity, culture and community that make Sioux City special. This year's theme, Flight of the Monarch, made for a colorful and memorable weekend!

A beautiful fall day made for a great quarry tour in Central Minnesota.

Our safety and aggregate teams hosted the Minnesota Safety Council for its October quarterly meeting at Helgeson Quarry in Sauk Rapids. The group learned how safety is built into daily operations, from PPE and training to mine-specific procedures, then saw those practices in action during the tour.

Thank you to the Minnesota Safety Council and our Central Minnesota team for a great day of learning and conversation.

Hawaiian Cement’s Nick Giron gave our team a new milestone to celebrate on the national stage!

Nick earned fifth place among 125 drivers from 41 states at the NRMCA Mixer Driver Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, becoming the first Knife River driver to reach the top five. Through knowledge tests, truck inspections and driving challenges, he demonstrated the precision and attention to detail this work demands.

Congratulations, Nick! Your accomplishment puts a spotlight on the skill behind the wheel and gives our next generation of drivers something to aim for.
