Aeroflex USA

Aeroflex USA Aeroflex USA produces and distributes the highest quality AEROFLEX EPDM™ flexible rubber insulation.

Aeroflex USA manufactures the Aerocel brand of high-performance flexible EPDM closed-cell elastomeric mechanical insulation for building mechanical systems such as HVAC piping, VRF, refrigeration, chilled water, duct liner/wrap, and plumbing piping & equipment. Aerocel EPDM saves energy by managing heat gain/loss, effectively controls condensation, is naturally UV and microbial-resistant, is fiber

-free and GREENGUARD Gold Certified for low chemical emissions, passes the primary industry fire-test-response standard, attenuates sound at specific frequencies, can contribute to LEED credits and is designed to last the life of a building mechanical system when properly specified and installed. Most of our products are proudly manufactured in Sweetwater, Tennessee with technical and sales support covering the United States.

Choosing the right VRF pipe insulation (or VRV pipe insulation) system can deliver countless benefits. Although variable refrigerant flow (VRF) or variable refrigerant volume (VRV) systems have been available in other countries for about three decades, this HVAC technology has only been available in the U.S. market for a decade or so. In that relatively short period of time, VRF/VRV has experienced a 200%+ growth rate.

Learning more about how this technology can benefit heating and cooling system design, ductwork, and more makes it clear why that increase in growth has been so dramatic. If you’re looking for a system that can increase energy efficiency, save space, protect against condensation, pipe corrosion, and mold while also offering increased design options and enhanced individual user controls, this proven technology can deliver.

NFPA 90A is the Standard for the Installation of Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, and NFPA 90B is the Standard for the Installation of Warm Air Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems.

Both standards address the construction, installation, operation and maintenance of HVAC systems.

In this blog, we break down how these two fire safety standards differ and how closed cell elastomeric foam HVAC pipe and duct insulation meets these standards.

SPEED UP INSULATION INSTALLATION WITH AEROCEL-SSPT®

The best closure system in the world, Aerocel® Stay-Seal® with Protape® (Aerocel-SSPT®) is a self-sealing, dual-direction adhesive that maintains its seal in the harshest of conditions. With Aerocel-SSPT®, your installations will be 300-400% faster.

Aerocel-SSPT® utilizes a unique 2-step sealing system to ensure a permanent seal. Step 1 is an acrylic adhesive seam seal on the inside of the longitudinal joint. Step 2 is an EPDM flap that utilizes a cellular fusion adhesive that closes across the top of the longitudinal seam. This adhesive chemistry bonds the EPDM to the tube ensuring a seal for the life of the system.
