This 5,300-square-foot Arvada home was designed to make the most of the ☀️ sun before those 39 rooftop solar panels are even needed.
Southern exposure, strategically placed 🪟 glazing, Alpen Tyrol 625 doors and windows, R-60 ceiling insulation, R-30 walls, a tight building envelope, and thermal mass all help capture and hold solar energy. On clear winter days above 🌡️ 25 degrees, the sun alone can carry the home’s heating load.
Add in heat pumps, battery storage, and carefully designed mechanical systems, and you have a home that can operate largely on energy from the sun while providing comfort and accessibility for the family who lives there.
Our latest blog takes a closer look at how all of these pieces work together. 👉️ https://aebuildingsystems.com/a-one-level-home-built-for-family-comfort-and-the-sun-blog/
