Well howdy! I wanted to toss out a PSA this morning. I've had some realtor friends tell me about folks reaching out to them for referral business from less than qualified individuals.
There is a lot of turn over and a lot of new faces everyday in the real estate industry. Scammers are more than happy to take advantage of the constant shuffle and confusion. Make sure to use all the resources available to ensure whoever you're working with is above bar and licensed to do what they claim they can do. The same site that lists realtor credentials also lists all the home inspectors in the state of Ohio. Just like a realtor, the license is attached to the person, not the company. The search is very flexible. You can search by last name only if that's all the info you have.
