Most frequently I find myself restoring and rebuilding Steinway & Sons grand pianos, though many other piano makes find their way in and out of my shop. It is the means and the end of the restoration or rebuilding process that feeds my soul. Rebuilding pianos is about recognizing the potential that these wonderful musical instruments have in them, breaking them down, piece by piece, and building them back up, as an artisan, as a lover of piano music, to achieve a thing of beauty - aesthetically, functionally, tonally. I first began piano tuning and servicing in Bozeman, MT in 1999. In 2003 I moved my business to Verona, WI and relocated to Belleville, WI in December of 2005. I learned my trade studying the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, and by working with other piano technicians. As a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) member of the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG), I feel that continuing education is extremely important, and therefore continue to attend various professional seminars and conventions sponsored by the PTG. I also seek out educational opportunities outside of the PTG. Some of the more significant training events that I have been fortunate enough to attend include:
2010: Steinway & Sons C.F. Theodore Steinway Technical Academy
2008: Steinway & Sons C.F. Theodore Steinway Technical Academy
2003: Yamaha Little Red Schoolhouse
2002: Randy Potter Advanced Training Seminar
I provide a complete range of services in addition to piano tuning and piano related products for my private clientele, schools, churches, music studios, and performance venues.
