Mod Squad Martha Our flavorful recipes are greatest hits from the anthology of Music City Chef Melissa Ann Barton, al

Christened “Mod Squad Martha” by a musician smitten with her many talents, her effortless style embodies timeless with a twist of hip. Her first gig was for a Music City executive's event where she served 300 people. She had “no staff, only a boyfriend and a daddy with a truck” - she had no company, she had no fancy brand. A jack of all trades in the kitchen and beyond, she was soon known as Mod Squad Martha the must-have under the radar chef of Music City’s insider affairs. Melissa Ann’s story couldn’t have been told better in a country music song. These products are the greatest hits from years of serving Nashville’s music community and most importantly feeding her family and friends.

The greatest man I have ever known has gone to heaven. My hero, my best friend and the most loving father and grandfather. So much I want to say but a heart to heavy to convey. Anyone who ever spoke to me knew within a few minutes how much I loved him. I would love to hear anything you can share about him and if you live in Nashville, his service will be tomorrow at The Cheek House at First Presbyterian church at 1. So many have reached out in love and support, wondering what to do. My Daddy loved and donations can be made in his name. What a gift from God to love someone so deeply and what peace to know the Lord has his soul.

Love what you do and your heart will always be full! Can’t wait to get back to this!

Need a unique and beautiful crowd pleasing appetizer for Thanksgiving? My Baked Cranberry & Blueberry Brie with figs, applewood smoked bacon and toasted pumpkin seeds is perfect. I doubt you will have leftovers but if you do...it rocks stuffed inside of a chicken breast or pork tenderloin or paired with leftover turkey as a quesadilla. Get the recipe on my website or blog!

Oh Nashville...I miss you so much this week every year. Even though the CMA, ASCAP and BMI Awards look quite different, Nashville and its music are in the spotlight. So many memories throughout the years of this week, all of them different and all special. Since I was a little girl, Nashville was a dream and I used to pretend I won a CMA Award and would pretend to give a speech. So, fast forward and years later, that little girl moved to Nashville, met George Jones and he got me a backstage pass to my first CMA’s. New in town, I went by myself and had the time of my life. Cell phones were not around and I remember calling my Momma and Daddy from a pay phone, just do they could hear it in the background. So grateful for all the dreams that have come true. I love music and Nashville so much. They are such a part of who I am!
