After careful consideration, we will be closed during all future “Friday Night on White” events.

While we have supported this event for many years, it has increasingly brought challenges that outweigh any benefit to our business. The event is no longer geared to provide meaningful value for Downtown businesses that do not sell alcohol or food.

Previous events have resulted in property damage and shoplifting - as well as repeated issues with unruly and intoxicated customers. Town of Wake Forest staff only provide a “hotline” to call if we encounter problems, and have told us that we should be “thankful” they’re bringing so many people Downtown.

Starting in May, law enforcement began stationing officers with long guns that fire pepper balls on top of our building to respond to potential crowd control incidents. If an event requires that level of monitoring and policing, perhaps it’s time to consider a different approach to the event altogether.

We remain committed to serving our customers - as we have done from this location since 1949 - while also supporting a safe, thriving Downtown.

In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed today as we reflect on their sacrifice and legacy.
