In 1919, the Women's Engineering Society (WES) was formed to connect women engineers who had taken on vacant roles after men enlisted in the First World War. Over 100 years later and thanks to countless hardworking and dedicated female engineers, we now celebrate the 7th annual International Women in Engineering Day, founded by WES to recognize the incredible progress that female engineers have made in shaping the world of STEM and paving the way to a brighter future.
