ADVISORY: ASPHALT APPROACHING !!!!

Consider using this week for any upcoming lumber deliveries. Our asphalt work begins next week.

* Thursday, July 2 - asphalting begins. (We hope to be open until noon and may be limited to lumber availability).
* Closed Friday through Monday, July 3 - 6.

GENE & KENNETH TO THE RESCUE …

We want to recognize these two employees for their compassion and fearlessness. They were first on the scene of the semi rollover on Wednesday. Within 30 seconds of the accident, this video shows them racing across the highway to check on and assist the driver with total disregard as to what they might find. (Miraculously the driver was uninjured). They further went on to direct traffic until emergency vehicles arrived.
As an employer, this confirms you have hired the right personalities to represent your business. We are proud beyond words.

LOCAL vs CORPORATE:
We can get as much product as we want whenever we want it. We don’t have to wait for corporate approval and we are not restricted by a corporate planogram. This also means we don’t run out of stock!!
Quikrete is a good example … our second top seller behind lumber. When you need it, you need it now. Yesterday’s semi was unloaded by two forklifts and stacked in a dry garage. (Dry is pretty important.)
Bottom line … we’ve been special ordering product for you for thirty-nine consecutive years.

A REALLY, REALLY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT !!!!

Daus is getting asphalt! We will be asphalting our store entrance area and our lumberyard area over the 4th of July weekend. Please note the following schedule:

*THUR 7/2 - Open til noon but with limited lumber availability.
* FRI 7/3 through MON 7/6 - Closed

We are posting this now to allow you to plan accordingly for big projects and/or delivery service. We will do everything we can during this time period to service you the best way possible. THANK YOU !!

LOCAL vs. CORPORATE
No one in an ivory tower is tying our hands. That means we can respond to your needs with new products and services lickity split!! Corporate stores are rigidly set in planograms established by someone in a far away office. But not at Daus. We listen to our customers and add new stuff quickly per their requests.
We have added HDPE … which is rolled conduit. A huge time and money saver. We added culverts in a variety of sizes. We put in a full line of LVP flooring. We were the first to offer DeWalt and Milwaukee compatible batteries at more than half off the price of the name brands. Heck, we now even have an inside cooler with cold Gatorade, Monster and Red Bull. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we have 37 vendors and will find it for you … fast! We do what’s necessary to earn your business … just like we have done for 39 straight years.

Daus was once again a SPONSOR and SUPPORTER of the Dunlap Lions Club annual fundraising golf tournament. This was our best finish in 5 years! (Truth be told, it was a 2nd place tie … but no need to get technical!)

LOCAL vs. CORPORATE
Being a locally owned small business, we don’t have a national TV advertising budget to tell you what we do or what we sell.
So, we are contemplating changing our name: “DAUS BUILDING SUPPLY & HARDWARE & ELECTRIC & PLUMBING & COMPLETE FULL-SERVICE LOCALLY OWNED PREMIUM LUMBERYARD “. (DBSHEPCFSLOPL for short). That pretty much says it all.
This does come with some disadvantages, however. It doesn’t fit very well on a hat. Our sign would have to be really big. We’d need a longer delivery truck.
After careful consideration, maybe it’s best to remain Daus Building Supply … our name for thirty-nine straight years.
