Machine Operator

Basalt Engineering is a start-up based in Virginia, a USA producing company of downstream products from Continuous Basalt Fibre (CBF) for the construction industry, a cleaner, stronger, lighter, and less expensive rebar.
Basalt Engineering is seeking an experienced and competent Machine Operator to join our team. In this role you will install, maintain, and operate the fibre machinery and the production lines. You must have a strong understanding of the machines and the manufacturing process -- In-depth training will be required and provided to prepare the Machine Operator for their duties.
Machine Operator Responsibilities:
Machine Operators will work with mechanical and computer-operated equipment and must be technically inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery.
When problems with machinery or line production arise, candidate must be able to evaluate, find and resolve the situation in a timely manner.
Must be detail-oriented and willing to learn.
Machine Operators should be able to follow instructions, work with others, and help ensure and observe they and all employees follow company safety rules and regulations.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
Operate tools to aid in the manufacturing process.
Perform periodic checks on equipment and follow a strict scheduled preventive maintenance plan to ensure problems are detected and solved in a timely manner.
Work with management to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
Machine Operator Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED.
Additional education and experience in the manufacturing arena.
Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics.
Attention to detail.
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety regulations.
Ensure all compliance needs are met and quality control suitability for product.
Assist manager with daily floor operations and report any issues and concerns.
Ability to work and communicate well with others.
Proficiency with hand tools.
Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Work in a fast pace production environment.
Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and manipulate up to 50 pounds.
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management, co-workers, customers, and vendors.
