The Worthington Hardware and Reed Family would like to thank our many patrons as we celebrate 75 years in operation. C Paul Reed opened the store on November 22, 1949 in the Laundromat building. The current location was built in 1951 and they carried everything across the street in wheelbarrows to open on November 1, 1951. The stock room addition was built in 1959. His son, William (Pete) Reed, carried on the business until 2011 when he passed. Greg Reed is now the third generation owner and operator. The whole Reed family has been an integral part in the store’s success throughout the years. Rod Reed still works a few hours a week at almost 88. The hardware continues to operate with hand written slips, typewritten invoices, and an old fashioned cash register and has become known for having everything you could need. Thank you for 75 years.
