Hi I am Mark Gilmore and I started my own business Absolute Transporting and Repair LLC back in 2012 when I was 18. I started working for a landscaping company drring the day and bringing home and repairing equipment for a few companies in my area. My business was started with one very strong pickup truck and a trailer to match. For my 19th birthday end of 2012 December 10th I brought home my first backhoe. It could be considered vintage being a 1964 Fordson super major tractor as its power plant but I was able to afford it and knew I could put it to work and complete jobs after a little TLC. This made me learn a lot about hydraulic repairs and working on heavy machinery. The machine served its purpose over the year to follow but I knew that if I wanted to be more efficient and have a machine that was capable of working in harsher environments and be reliable I would have to look into an upgrade. I have been working almost 7 days a week on a regular basis as a sub contractor for a tree company and excavation company while building my business and doing my own jobs hear and there. I was using my new hauling truck for everything under the sun and was not happy about the wear I was putting on it with the tools, parts and equipment so I worked toward buying a utility truck with tool boxes that would be used as a mobile repair and maintenance truck allowing me to clean up my white gmc and use that for hauling and plowing purposes only. I really liked the hauling part of my job and using my trailer to haul wood debris, machines, cars, trucks, or anything else that could be winched or placed onto it but It became apparent that it I could benefit from a dump trailer for bulk materials or anything else that could not self unload. I then found A dump trailer I liked that was big enough and rated for enough weight to fit my needs. I now provide bulk material haul away or delivery for any small business or homeowner. From hauling away brush, leaves, or wood to bringing in and delivering, stone, mulch, soil, or almost anything else I now had a way to haul and deliver much quicker than using my traditional flat deck trailer. Next step was a newer more modern machine to go along with the new dump trailer to load it up efficiently allowing me to take on bigger better jobs. Hauling a machine off of a job I was coming down a road and spotted a backhoe with a for sale sign. This backhoe fit what I was looking for in a backhoe to a T. A full size turbo charged, 4x4 backhoe with a 4in1 front (clamshell) bucket and an extenda-hoe. It was also slightly vandalized and needed replacement glass a some TLC witch was perfect because that was the only way I could afford a machine of that caliber. After a day of going over some stuff and repacking one leaking cylinder. I had the machine at a level where I brought it to its first easy job to see how it would go and it succeeded with flying colors! We are now approaching the winter season and I am preparing for the first winter snowplowing on my own partnered with another fairly new business. We have been around and plowing for many years and finally taking the step to be on our own. Stay tuned for more updates.
