The blocks are simply stacked using a horizontal interlock, a design that allows for unrestricted wall angles and curves to suit any environment - unhampered by Lego block type nibs and slots that are common in other systems - to provide a cost-effective and versatile earth retaining system. Even though the blocks are lightweight for easy delivery and installation, they are sufficiently heavy in mass when filled with soil, gavel or concrete providing sufficient vertical interlock. Terraforce® professional retaining wall systems vary in use from light gravity domestic concrete retaining walls to industrial geogrid reinforced earth-retaining or heavy gravity, double skin retaining walls.
