Combat Force is proud to announce that after over 30 years of being an independent SSP we have merged with National Security and Fire. All of our staff are remaining with the company so all those familiar faces, teams and Superstars will continue to look after the community as they've already done for so long. Colin Reeves is retiring and passes on his heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported Combat Force over all the years and hopes that National will continue to enjoy that support. There are many benefits to our clients and communities, including more vehicles in the areas where we operate. A new southern suburbs office is opening at 163 Princessvlei Road in Southfield. That's about 700 meters from our existing premises. All the same ladies working in our accounts department are staying as are our Technical Coordinators and technicians. Nothing will change except, in time, the branding. We look forward to being of service as always to our communities.

Yesterday, Senior Response Officer Hannes, responded to an alert on the Komwatch WhatsApp group of suspected poachers in the area. When investigating he spotted a canoe and some of the suspects hidden against the bank past the slipway in Beach Road. He called for backup from Komwatch and proceeded in apprehending the suspects. The ADT Deep South controller was asked to contact SAPS. On their arrival the SAPS members arrested the suspects and their equipment, which was confiscated, was transported by Hannes to the Ocean View CSC. The suspects were let off with a warning as they were caught before going into the water. The canoe and equipment was taken into storage at OV SAPS. Thanks to Komwatch members, ADT and SAPS. Well done to Hannes. You always make us proud.

Yesterday morning at approximately 06:15 while patrolling down the Victoria Service Road in Plumstead, Riedewaan and Robin, yes again, spotted two unknown men running along the railway lines. As they appeared suspicious Riedewaan called to them, and while Robin was busy talking to them, Riedewaan saw the one man dropping something. So he ran onto the station platform and when the suspects saw him the other suspect also dropped something. Two other Combat Force Response Officers arrived as backup and three Southfield NHW members. The dropped items included a cellphone and a replica revolver with a brown holster. CIVIC contacted SAPS Diepriver and the suspects were handed over on a charge of being in possession of presumed stolen property. A Security Officer working at a site in Victoria Road was later tracked down, who identified the suspects, the replica revolver, which had been pointed at him when he was robbed and his cellphone, which had been stolen from him at gunpoint. A case has now been opened against the two suspects for armed robbery, which is a serious charge. Well done to our two Superstars, our other two Response Officers and the NW patrollers, who contribute so much to the community. The Superstars have an incredible knack and awareness for rooting out suspicious actions and can't be praised enough. Congratulations!! I just wish we could post the photos of the suspects but it's illegal to do so. But just watch this space!!

A male was stopped by our Combat Force Response Officer Lamani, leaving the Village this morning with some power tools. It is suspected that they may come from a property or vehicle in Sunbird Circle or Heron Circle. The suspect is in SAPS custody for now for being in possession of suspected stolen goods, please check your properties and go open a case if they are yours. Well done Mr Lamani! We hope this is just the beginning of many more such successes.

This morning at approximately 5 am, while on patrol, Riedewaan and Robin, two Combat Force Superstars, who have regularly been mentioned in despatches, took a walk close to the railway line near Lester Road in Wynberg. They heard noises and voices so investigated and found three unknown males busy digging a trench to take out cables next to the line. When they spotted the two the suspects fled, leaving behind some of their tools. One of the suspects was caught, apprehended and taken to Wynberg SAPS. He was taken into custody awaiting PRASA to open a case. This area of Wynberg seems to be a breeding ground for criminals. Nearby is the infamous Grand Central, which appears to house many drug dealers and people of similar ilk. Well done chaps. You always make us proud.

Michael, our Armed Response Division Manager, put in a bit of a display this weekend in the Marina. The extra visibility is always effective and adds to the motivation of our other personnel in the area. Well done chaps. Now that we have installed and are monitoring 4 cameras in Uitsig Peninsula all free of charge for the Uitsig community whose crime stats have been the worst in the Marina since we can all remember, we hope to reduce the crime rate in that area of the Marina. We believe in being proactive, which is always in the best interest of the community.

The windy conditions are resulting in an excessive number of alarm activations, particularly from outdoor beams and sensors. In order to minimise this please urgently trim shrubs, hedges and tree branches. Responding to false alarms takes our Armed Response Officers away from real emergencies.
