Ever finished painting a wall, only to spot a visible line where you stopped and started?

That’s a lap mark. It can happen when one section begins to dry before you continue painting beside it.

Plan enough time to complete the wall in one go. Work between natural stopping points, such as corners, and maintain a wet edge as you paint.

Need paint and tools for your next project? Visit an authorised Plascon Paint Expert store for practical advice. The Plascon Easy Living range is exclusively available at our stores nationwide.

One primer for every surface? Not quite.

Masonry, wood, mild steel, galvanised metal and fibre cement each have different preparation and priming requirements. Choosing the wrong primer can compromise the finish before your topcoat even goes on.

Tell your local paint expert what you’re painting and what condition it’s in. We’ll help you work out the right preparation and coating system for the surface.

Damp patch or powdery wall? Don’t just paint over it.

New paint may look good at first, but moisture or an unsound surface can lead to poor adhesion and early coating failure. Find and fix the source of the damp, then prepare the wall properly before repainting.

Not sure what’s causing the problem? Speak to the team at your nearest authorised Plascon Paint Expert store before choosing your coating system.

A fresh coat of paint can’t make dirt and grease disappear. In fact, painting over them can stop the new coating from bonding properly.

Before you open the tin, clean the wall, rinse away any cleaning residue and let the surface dry fully. A little preparation now can make a big difference to the finished result.

Planning to paint with Plascon Easy Living? Ask your local paint expert to help you prepare the surface and choose the right products for the job.
