Farm Equipment & Garden Centre In early 1987 a branch of Farm Maintenance Services ( FMS ) managed by Peter Heathcote operated in Underberg under its Head Office in Pietermaritzburg.

Farm Equipment and Garden Centre is a retail company based in Underberg offering supplies for farming equipment, machinery and general supplies, as well as domestic supplies and gardening products. The Head Office decide to close all its outlying branches offering these to the managers as stand alone businesses . This decision led to the opening of the existing business called Farm Equipment Cent

re. It originally traded in a building owned by Mr Dennis May ( Existing Forge Agri )premises before moving next door to its own home named Heathcote House, where it traded in supplying and servicing all Agricultural Mechanisation needs to the local farming market. In The year 2000 Peter Heathcote sold the business to Doug Abbey who added plants and garden products to the business.This resulted in the name changing to:
Farm Equipment and Garden Centre. The business continued to service both Agricultural and Household needs until the sale to Bruce May in January 2020. On the acquiring of a property at 17 Main Road Underberg the business has relocated to this site. With the formation of the MAYS Group Farm Equipment Centre continues to play an integral part of the future growth and prosperity of the Group.
