Giving the gift of life this Christmas. Today our Auckland team added a whole new meaning to Christmas giving. While most of us are wrapping presents, our amazing colleagues were rolling up their sleeves... literally, and donated blood at a nearby New Zealand Blood Service mobile site.

Five of our team members stepped forward to give one of the most precious gifts anyone can offer… their blood. And with one donation having the power to save up to three lives, that’s a whole lot of Christmas spirit packed into a single visit.

With less than four per cent of eligible New Zealanders regularly donating, we’re especially proud of our generous crew. A huge thank you to Bryn Howitt, Joshua Matic, Roshan Sasane and David Zhang for leading by example and showing what true community spirit looks like at this time of year.

Yesterday we celebrated International Men’s Day 2025 and launched our new Men’s Network + Allies (MN+A), supporting men’s health, connection and wellbeing across our organisation.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Men and Boys,” reminds us of the role we all play in building a fair, safe and supportive society.

We enjoyed great conversations over coffee kindly provided by the Ngwala Willumbong Aboriginal Corporation and acknowledged the impactful work of Tour de Cure Australia in cancer research and early detection. We also checked in on the “Halfway Hairies” as our Movember team hit the mid-month mark!

Te Wiki o te Reo Māori – Māori Language Week.

This week (14-20 September), Aotearoa/New Zealand celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, which is an important time to recognise and honour Te Reo Māori – one of New Zealand’s three official languages, alongside English and NZSL.

At dormakaba, we are proud to support this celebration of language, culture and identity. Our Aotearoa/New Zealand National Office today celebrated the week with a traditional Hāngī, bringing our people together to reflect, connect and acknowledge the significance of te reo Māori in shaping Aotearoa’s past, present and future.
