A table is only half set until the candles are lit.

The first candle looks like nothing. By the tenth, the curtain behind has turned the colour of butter, and the ribbed glass along the cloth is carrying the light down the table.

Same set as earlier this month, now lit: long white tapers, tealights in ribbed glass, white anthurium and a loose rope of amaranthus.

Every piece is in our Melbourne showroom.

Watch the flame multiply as the camera moves past the ribbing — this isn’t a filter, it’s just what clear ribbed glass actually does to light.

Styled here at 40cm for height down a long table, with a 30cm option for lower, more intimate settings.

Every ribbed line down the glass doubles the candlelight before it even reaches you — one flame reads as five or six by the time it hits the far edge of the sleeve.

Available in two heights — 40cm and 30cm, both Ø6.5cm — so you can build the same reflective line down a long table, or keep it lower for a smaller setting. Pair it with any taper in the range and the glass does half the styling work on its own.

A quick look at how this month’s scenes actually came together - drape first, then height, then the small details that make a table feel finished.

Save this if you’re planning your own layout.

Photos flatten texture — candle sand especially. This is what the full Chocolate Fondant range actually looks like walking through our Melbourne showroom.

Every vessel, every height, every tone from the palette is out on the floor right now.

This scene starts with a painting, not a mood board: Monet's A Corner of the Garden with Dahlias, 1873 — a wall of green hedging, light breaking through white and cream blooms, repetition doing most of the visual work.

We translated that logic directly. Green drape stands in for the hedge. White candle sand and orchids stand in for the light breaking through.

And the tapers repeat down the table exactly the way the flower beds repeat across the canvas.

Chocolate Fondant is September's main story — but sometimes the more interesting brief is styling toward one 19th century painting instead.

Roses in ch*****ne and ivory, candle sand glowing just behind them, one fluted glass lamp catching the light — this is the detail shot, not the wide one.

Most of what makes a tablescape feel finished happens at this distance, not from across the room.

We don't sell one finished look — we sell five elements that build any look: tall taper candles, candle sand, drape, faux florals, and candlesticks.

Pick your own combination and the palette becomes yours, not ours. Chocolate Fondant is just one version of what these five pieces can build — swap the drape colour, change the candle tone, and it's an entirely different room.

What would your five pieces look like?

Behind these candlesticks sits Monet's A Corner of the Garden with Dahlias— painted in 1873, now hanging in the National Gallery of Art. We didn't style toward a mood board this time. We styled toward a single 150-year- old canvas.

White candle sand instead of our usual chocolate tones, brass instead of glass, a deep green drape standing in for the hedge in the painting. The palette isn't one we invented — it was already on the canvas.

Would you build an entire tablescape around one painting, or just borrow a single detail from it?
