In 1974, we opened our doors in Station Street, Wembley, continuing the family business that started in Leederville way back in 1912 as a simple engineering section attached to a shop. Due to the redevelopment of Wembley and Subiaco, we relocated our main office to Wangara in 1986, and in 2001, expanded our operations with additional shops in Balcatta and Malaga. In 2005, our Balcatta premises merged with L&T Venables in Malaga. Today, our Wangara and Malaga stores stock an extensive range of Industrial Tools, Hardware, Fasteners, Welding Supplies, and Power Tools. Our Wangara store is also an agent for BOC Gases.

🔩 L&T’S TOP TIP: Know your threads!

Working with stainless steel fasteners? Watch out for galling — friction can cause stainless steel threads to seize together, making them difficult to remove and potentially ruining the fastener.

🛠️ The fix: Use a suitable anti-seize lubricant where appropriate, avoid excessive speed when tightening, and always follow the fastener manufacturer’s recommendations.

Clean entry, messy exit? 🔩 Drilling through timber can tear fibres from the back face as the bit breaks through - particularly frustrating on exposed joinery or fit-off work.

Clamp a sacrificial timber offcut firmly against the exit face to support those fibres, then ease off the feed pressure as you finish the hole. A little prep can save plenty of patching and sanding.
