2nd Amherstburg Scouting

10/27/2026

Tonight we worked on our flashlight permits, played Spooky Tag and a very exciting game of pumpkin rescue.

SAVE THE DATE: November 7th will be our all sections camp at Camp Bryerswood. Each section will send out more details but Beavers will be doing a day camp.

Great job tonight Beavers! We'll see you all next week at the pond!

We may not get far on our hikes but man do we have fun.

A first time at the Collavino Conservation area for many youth, parents and scouters!

He doesn't just run marathons! He also shows up to help Finn with his Apple Day adventures too.

Apple Day weekend is officially wrapped up and HOLY MOLY Amherstburg. A HUGE thank you to everyone!

We're waiting for our final counts but it looks like we surpassed our goal of $4500 officially making this the BEST year ever!

That means more camps, more adventures, and incredible programming every week.

We gave away 270lbs of apples, met loads of people and had dozens of kids out working on new skills to help them grow into even more awesome humans.

We couldn't do this without our parents and volunteers. You might only see our Scouters for an hour or two each week (and a few that are only ever behind the scenes!) but they do so much more than that.

Apple Day is a great example of the dedication our volunteers have.

Our Scouters at HQ logged 34 total volunteer hours.

The youth put 42 hours in with our community. And parents logged 37 hours alongside them.

Thanks again to Sobeys, Wigle Home Hardware Building Centre, No Frills and Canadian Tire for allowing us to set up this weekend.

There is still time to stop by No Frills, Sobeys or Canadian Tire to see one of our amazing youth. Grab an apple as our way of saying THANKS for being such an incredible community and if you're able, a donation.

We will be at all 3 locations until 1pm.

This money all stays right here in Amherstburg so that the kids you're seeing have great programming courtesy of our volunteers.

Noah rocked our first shift at Canadian Tire this morning! Come out and say hello. We're here until 1.

A few more shots from yesterday! Tatum discovered why the kids love going to Wigle Home Hardware Building Centre. Popcorn!

Today we will be at No Frills, Canadian Tire and Sobeys from 9am - 1pm.

These kids are not only working hard for our group but also their leadership and public speaking skills so please take a few seconds to ask them about Scouts and what they love most.

I see scared kids leave HQ to head to their spot and excited ones come back because they talked to everyone and had so much fun during their shift.

We're so proud of you 2nd Amherstburg!

It's been such an amazing start to our Apple Day weekend. Kids will be out tomorrow from 9am - 1pm at No Frills, Sobeys and Canadian Tire. No cash? No problem. Tap is available at Sobeys and Canadian Tire.

A huge thank you to our families who have already been out. Just look at these awesome kids and their parents and siblings! It's incredible to see the support we have from families and our community.

DID YOU KNOW?!

Groups are 100% volunteer powered. A very small portion of registration fees make their way back to groups so we rely on things like Apple Day to raise the money we need to run our weekly meetings, take kids on camps and adventures, educate and train our volunteers, have indoor meeting space and purchase gear.

So thank you Amherstburg for the great start to this weekend. We've raised $3400 so far. Can we hit our goal of $4500?! Come see one of our stops tomorrow, chat with the kids to understand why Scouts is so important to them and grab yourself a tasty apple!
