Digga Europe manufactures and distributes auger drives, anchor drives, augers and trenchers for skid steer loaders, excavators, backhoes and tele-handlers. Established since 1981, Digga is a world leader in drilling and trenching technology. Established in 1981 by founder and Director of Research & Development Stewart Wright, our first office, a phone booth at a Brisbane Caravan Park, provided earthmoving wearparts to local operators. A need quickly arose for the repairs and supply of drilling augers and a small factory was established in Brisbane Australia in 1982. Digga were the pioneers of Pendulum drilling in Australia with the range of products growing steadily as the company focused on its customer’s needs, adding chain-driven drilling drive units in 1985. The desire for a more compact, low maintenance drilling drive led to the development of planetary-driven pendulum-mounted auger drives in 1987. Frustrated with inconsistent supply & quality from imported gearbox components, the company invested in gear cutting technology in 1987 and today are the largest Australian gearbox manufacturers for the construction and earthmoving industry. Designing gearboxes up to 375,000ft-lbs for drilling & screw anchoring, Digga produce gearboxes for a full range of attachments and speciality applications including mining and waste industries. With rapid growth and expansion, Digga opened additional manufacturing and distribution facilities in Sydney, New South Wales in 1989 and Melbourne, Victoria in 1992 to support an ever growing range of products and clientele. In 1996 Digga started exporting to Europe and the USA, establishing a master distributor in the United Kingdom in 1998. The Andover (Hampshire) branch became company owned in 2004. Digga currently exports to over 50 countries, distributing product through 400 quality dealers worldwide. The company's new state of the art 130,000sq/ft. facility in Brisbane, Australia opened in late 2005. The facility features 15 CNC multi-axis machines, 15 gear cutting and spindling machines, automatic steel cutting machines, 2 high definition plasma cutters, 350 ton 11 axis high precision brake presses, 6 robotic cells and state of the art fabrication facilities fitted with 26 Fronius high speed pulse welders, providing the latest in high production welding technology. A facility to service America and Canada was opened in April 2013 as demand for Digga’s range of screw piling foundation and drilling drives grow. The 35,000 sq/ft. facility is centrally located in Dyersville, Iowa. Digga North America supplies single and two speed drilling drives, hand helds, anchor drives up to 375,000ft/lbs of torque, earth and rock augers, mounts, and drilling & anchoring accessories. Digga is a multiple award-winning company having won the prestigious British Export Excellence Award in 2009, international design awards, amongst countless domestic and international design awards. The Digga Bigfoot makes life easier for less experienced operators and hire companies where equipment is used by a range of operators.
With the foot flat on the ground, the spoil auger is automatically set at the correct height.
⚠️ Too low? The auger can hit the ground, robbing the trencher of power and momentum and slowing trenching speeds.
⚠️ Too high? The spoil auger won’t clear the soil away properly, allowing spoil to fall back into the trench and need to be removed again.
The Bigfoot takes the guesswork out of setting the correct auger height — helping operators keep spoil moving, maintain trenching efficiency and get the job done faster.

Using rotating rock teeth in standard soil? Here’s what can happen.
In standard soil, soil can bind the tooth inside the pocket, stopping it from rotating properly. This can create a flat spot on the side of the tooth and lead to premature wear.
It’s also why you shouldn’t use lubricant to keep the teeth rotating. Fine dust can mix with the lubricant and create a paste that prevents the tooth from rotating.
The best solution? Check your teeth regularly. If a tooth is stuck, tap it with a hammer to free it or hose the teeth down to clean them out.
And before storing your auger between jobs, always hose down and clean the teeth.
A little maintenance can help keep your teeth rotating and wearing as they should. 🔧

Preset positions can be easily adjusted with just two nuts and bolts, while its clear visibility from the cab means there’s no need for a spotter!

Two-Piece Shaft Design
Digga’s two-piece shaft design is engineered to protect the planetary gears from excessive side load.
The separate shaft design helps isolate the planetary gears from pushing, pulling and bending forces. The planetary gears are responsible for multiplying torque inside the drive, so reducing side load on these components helps protect the gearbox and extend service life.
The shaft is secured with a heavy-duty custom lock nut, helping deliver a high pullout rating.
Excessive side load on the shaft can cause the shaft seal to leak, requiring replacement. On comparable one-piece shaft designs, similar side loading can transfer stress into the gearbox and potentially result in more extensive and costly repairs.
Two-piece shaft. Less side load on the planetary gears. More protection where it matters.
