I've heard black cats are hard to photograph! Apparently Humble Peg shavings make a good spot for a snooze.

'Pass me a podger please'...

This gorgeous word landed in my ears when I was helping Oak & Fir Timberframes set up for the Stithians Show. A podger... I was delighted to discover it's a real word.

"A podger (also known as a timber framing pin) is a tapered steel tool used by carpenters to temporarily align and draw heavy timber joints tight. They are especially common in oak framing and traditional mortise-and-tenon construction, where they hold beams securely in place before permanent wooden pegs are driven in."

I love that Humble Pegs replace podgers ☺️

This morning was very exciting! I had the opportunity to hammer Humble Pegs into a frame (first time ever!) as I helped Oak & Fir Timberframes set for the Stithians Show.

If you are heading to the Stithians Show tomorrow, do come and say hello 👋

You will find me on Stand 75 sheltering under a beautiful Oak & Fir timber frame, joints proudly being held tight by Humble Pegs 😊

I haven't spotted any pegs in the wild for a while now 🧐 But today, something even better than peg spotting happened. . . someone shared a peg joke with me!

"I've got this great timber peg joke, but I am reluctant to tell it for fear that you wooden think I nailed it."

🤣 Is it possible there are more awful peg jokes out there? Hmm new mission activated!
