Love it when a plan (or a miter fold) comes together

We just want to be like Sean from Funtime Cabinet Factory because they have a silly name but make some serious cabinets. At least that’s what Sean says.

This whole thing started in 2019 when we bought our first house. The garage was a gym, then a gym/workshop, and finally just the shop. Before long I needed cabinets to store all the new tools I was collecting, and the rest is rock and roll history. I’m now on shop #3, and I think I’ll be here a while. Maybe one day I’ll look back at HCM in 2026 and think, “Wow, look how small we were. We were just getting started.”

Every Marine has read Hubbard’s “A Message to Garcia” In boot camp or at Officer Candidate School. I am fortunate to have excerpts of this letter etched into to my memory as I try my best to be a servant leader. If you have 10 minutes, it is a worthy read. “I think if I worked for a man, I would work for him.”

Hope this quick tip helps someone. I have been using Huepar Laser Level laser for the past few months and I’m really happy with it. The line stays visible in light conditions and the battery lasts for days and charges with a USB C, which is a feature I didn’t know I wanted until I had it!

Looking back on it, this was kind of crazy. Two years ago I was still living in a town house and building cabinets on the side. When I wasn’t doing that, I was drafting for another shop and trying to learn as much as I possibly could. I’ve purchased a lot of expensive tools up to this point, but this is the first one where I thought “ well I guess we are really doing this”. Running a professional edge band in a 400 square-foot townhouse garage. It was in pretty, but I built a lot of projects out of here burning the midnight oil. My neighbors thought I was crazy, but they all helped me move this bastard into the garage. This was the first time I ever drove Forklift. I rented it for the weekend and unloaded a $25,000 machine with about five minutes of practice. I don’t recommend that.

This has been my set up for years now. Some items come and go but these staples never leave the pouch! Whats in your pouch?
