Saying, “There’s nothing like that red carpet feeling!” never gets old! Every year, more RaD athletes take on the daunting task of training for an Ironman 140.6 race. Each athlete has their own goals and learns their own lessons along the way. The RaDMaX duo didn’t disappoint! We have had the pleasure of coaching them from start to finish - each of their first triathlons, 70.3’s, Olympics, the World Major Marathons and IRONMAN! None of the work has been easy, many injuries and mental breakdowns along the way. When we say it takes a village; it literally takes a village! Armand & Pam; training partners, best friends, athletes and PIA’s, we are so proud of your commitment, your grit and your perseverance. ULTIMATE CONGRATULATIONS on Ironman Chattanooga and additionally earning the Lookout Challenge medal! No matter what; YOU. ARE. AN. IRONMAN! Welcome to the > 0.01%. You’ve certainly earned it.

Forgive us while we recap our season. More from IMMD class of 2026!

Rob came to us with an idea and a dream goal. 15 months later he can call himself an Ironman. We started swimming, we bought a bike (actually 2 🤣) we ran a marathon we raced sprints, Olympics, and 2 x 70.3s. He followed the plan, he learned, he listened, and he put in the work!

The race was hard, but it’s Ironman, it’s not supposed to be easy. He finished 3 minutes ahead of plan - a perfectly executed race.
As coaches this is what fills our bucket. This is why we love what we do!

Rob is picking races for next year, he has the fire, he knows the feeling you can only get from running down THE red carpet!

So much to update the internet on. The FaM has been so very busy. Going back a few weeks and will give each athlete the spotlight they deserve. This is Rich. A single, working dad; who lost a ton of weight, got into lifting weights at the Mecca OG Training Academy and decided he wanted to “do an Ironman.”

He signed up, he asked a friend for a plan. He asked for a swim coach and he found us. Swipe two slides to see where he began. He couldn’t swim one 25m pool length without his head above the water, without a kickboard or fins.

We worked tirelessly in the pool all winter. Early mornings, late nights, dragging our kids along, independent practice comprised of drills and endurance & efficiency drills.

Middle slide, probably halfway to Ironman. And then: p**f! It was the daunting 2 mile swim then race day. Swimming buoy to buoy for hours on end with Amy Wheeler Turchi in her gem of a backyard….. to accomplish this.

Forget the bike difficulty. Forget the run, Rich has ran many a marathon. But THIS. One of the hardest swims on the Ironman circuit ….. was actually the easiest part of his day.

Congrats to our Richie. Your commitment to yourself, your diet and your training led you to every red carpet moment; well done and much deserved.

For anyone looking , DM me for bike details, it’s for sale!

Train for 8 months. Eat. Sleep. Live triathlon. Give up fun, family, friends and weekends to train. Only to have a race canceled due to weather. While we know it was canceled for the athletes, volunteers, community safety; it doesn’t lessen the disappointment. Our athlete sarah!! said she wasn’t wasting her training and was going to LA Fitness to do a half Ironman. The task at hand is large enough when you have a venue, spectators and friends racing and even bigger when you take it on yourself. She DID THAT! Followed her training plan, nutrition plan and finished a 70.3 indoors and SOLO! That is pure grit right there. Proud to have you as part of the FaM! Way to crush the day!!!!!

Today I ran a 5K in support of the Gabby Petito Foundation 💜

I was also proud to run representing an organization near and dear to my heart, — founded by a group of fearless female friends committed to raising awareness about domestic violence and reminding women of the importance of self-care, strength, and supporting one another.

I finished 1st in my age group, 4th female, and 8th overall 🏃‍♀️💪 — but today was about so much more than a placement or a finish time.

It was about showing up for an incredible cause. Raising awareness. Using our voices. Supporting women.

No woman should ever feel she has to stay quiet. Speak up. Raise awareness. Stay strong. 💜

You can’t ever have a bad day at the beach! I am a broken record; but coaching the swim gives me such honor and privilege as a Coach. Today was the Long Beach Lifeguard Memorial OCEAN swim….. Dani, Ray, Jackie and Flo pretty much swim this every year because it’s FUN. Today, Rich swam it because I made him. I challenged him. Rob came along for the support (and fun) and I am SO PROUD! Not only did everyone in this swipe FINISH- there are several PODIUMS as well! The RaD way! Congratulations to everyone who took on the mile! 🦈🦈🦈

One of my favorite things to coach is the open water swim. It makes my heart happy when athletes take on triathlon; of any distance and face open water challenges. Swimming can be plain old scary. Tonight Rich swam a full mile out in the ocean. Most people have never even walked a mile near an ocean. We are so proud of his dedicated training, and excited for what the next few months bring. Way to go Rich! Thank you always, Amy for giving the RaDFaM a beautiful place to train.

Been a great start of the season. We are catching up on race recaps and photo dumps from June. They’re coming. But going backward, it’s podiums all around. Sam took the 3rd step at the off road Xterra event, and both Armand and Pam took the top at the Great Gatsby Sprint! Following their plans, putting in the work and here we are!
