Bigger Trees, Safely Delivered and Placed!

I’ve picked up and delivered root ball trees ranging from 4to12 feet tall from nurseries to customers homes.

The challenge is getting these heavy, awkward trees off the trailer and into the planting hole. Trying to life and guide them by hand can put people at risk of back injuries or getting caught under the tree.

This is where my knuckle boom shines!

I wrap an old towel around the tree base to protect it from the lifting strap, then use the crane to lift it up out of the trailer and lower it into the hole.

Less manual handling, less risk of injury, and precise placement!

Yesterday, I met a customer at Timber Rock Resources in Sherwood, Oregon, where they let me into the yard to load myself, to select boulder for his landscaping project.

He was impressed with how little surface damage my grapple did as compared to to the larger excavators typically used in the rock yards.

I unloaded 8 boulders in 6 minutes, placing them over a hand dug ditch.

We will place them, along side the larger boulders he had delivered earlier this week, this weekend, when the parking lot is empty.

Videos of the finish project coming soon!

More than logs and rocks — call the Claw!
A friend was looking for eco blocks to build a play structure for their kids. I came across some available for free nearby, so I contacted the owner.

I originally thought I might take them home and find a buyer later. But once I loaded them, I snapped a picture and sent it to my friend. He wanted them!

It’s great knowing what people need, so when I come across the right item, I can make it happen.

This block, with set up, load, and take down, just took ten minutes! My best estimate is around 2,800 pounds, give or take 200 pounds.

Notice how I can bring the load closer to the mast while keep the center of gravity lower. Thats the advantage of my knuckle boom crane!

Have big, heavy concrete items you need moved or hauled away?

More than logs and boulders—The Claw can handle it!

Here’s an older job from a few years ago when a church called me to remove an outdoor elevator. Sorry, no video, just pictures!

The church had already disconnected the elevator electrically and mechanically before I arrived.

I grabbed the top of the elevator with my grapple, lifted it up and out of the shaft, swung it around, and placed it onto their trailer.

They then asked if I could remove a few kitchen appliances the same way. Absolutely! It was much safer for me to reach down about 8 feet into the shaft with my knuckle boom and grapple than to have someone manually haul the appliances up the stairs and risk injury.

I placed everything on their trailer for scrap metal recycling.

This is the versatility of my knuckle boom and grapple. From logs and boulders to heavy equipment and awkward item, I can reach it, lift, and place loads where they need to go.

One neighbor recommends you to another! That’s the best kind of advertising!

I deliver firewood logs to one neighbor and recently, he referred me to another neighbor who wanted logs to cut, split and stack for his own firewood.

Rather than just dumping the logs in a pile, I used my knuckle boom and grapple to unload and stack them right in front of his woodshed. He now has the logs where he can process them without having to work on his freshly laid gravel road.

It’s rewarding when a satisfied customer thinks enough of your service to recommend you to a neighbor!

I am fortunate to offer firewood three ways to get firewood to customers, depending on their needs.

-Firewood logs delivered and placed where you want them.
-Split firewood in a tote, cut and stacked for easy access.
-Split firewood by a dump trailer.

Every customer has a different situation and I enjoy finding the right solution for each one.

Versatility! Customer service! Improving their lives!

Quicker log removal. Less ground disturbance. Happier Customer!

When pulling firewood logs out of the brush, I use my knuckle boom crane to pull them up and into the reach of the grapple.

This means less brush coming along, less ground disturbance, and less damage to the surrounding area.

When removing logs from someone’s lawn, I can avoid driving over the grass leaving tire tracks, and compacting the soil. I also don’t have to cut the logs into small pieces, saving time and reducing handling.

Downed ash tree. Firewood or sawlog?
You know when you’re driving down a road and come across a tree that has fallen across the road? That’s what I found: an ash tree that had been down for about a year, straight with tight grain.

I cut it into three pieces, but I bet a small sawmill could turn it into some nice boards! There is a little grub activity in the sap wood, but not much, and very few small limbs.

The first two pieces just took 4 minutes to load! I really appreciate reach and maneuverability of my knuckle boom crane.

Interested in the ash logs? PM me!

Today, I picked up an old oak log that had been down for several years. If it was green , there’s no way I could have picked it up like this! I would have had to put one end on my truck, then get the other end on my truck, mean while worrying about the first end sliding off!
One advantage of my knuckle boom crane is that I can bring the load closer to the mast allow me to pick up heavier loads.
The sap wood is rotten, but the heart wood will make great firewood next year!

I was hired to clean up two down oak trees near a house in Carlton, Oregon.

Once the logs reach a certain size or weight, I have to used chains. One log was so big and heavy that I had pick up one end at a time.

This is where the knuckle boom really shines. By bring the load closer to the mast, I can pick up more weight and handle the bigger logs.

I then transferred to logs over to my other truck and trailer and hauled them to a mill that specializes in oar lumber.

Have a big tree, heavy logs, or a tough heavy load that needs to be moved? Give me a call, 971-825-9236, I have the equipment to handle it!
