Perfect Laser Technologies is looking for motivated Electrical Engineering graduates to join our Technical Department in both Johannesburg and Cape Town.
This opportunity is ideal for a recent Electrical Engineering graduate who wants to apply their academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment. At PLT, you will have the opportunity to learn about our range of machines, develop your technical skills and gain experience in machine operation, maintenance, installations and troubleshooting.

You will receive practical exposure and guidance as you learn the ins and outs of our machines, equipment and technical processes, with the opportunity to grow your knowledge and capabilities within the business.
🔧 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Learn the technical specifications, operation and functionality of PLT's range of machines and equipment.
• Apply foundational electrical engineering knowledge to practical technical tasks.
• Assist with machine setup, testing, installation, maintenance and repairs under appropriate supervision.
• Develop an understanding of electrical components, wiring, connections and machine systems relevant to the equipment we supply.
• Assist with identifying faults, diagnosing technical issues and troubleshooting machine problems.
• Learn to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams, wiring diagrams and machine documentation.
• Assist with technical assessments, service jobs and machine demonstrations where required.
• Complete job cards, installation documents, service reports and other required technical records accurately.
• Follow technical procedures, workplace safety requirements and company protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe technical workspace.
• Work alongside experienced technicians and learn from their practical knowledge and experience.
• Take initiative in developing your technical understanding and progressively take on more responsibility as your skills improve.
📋 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• A completed qualification in Electrical Engineering, such as a National Diploma, Diploma or Degree.
• A valid driver's licence
• A sound foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles.
• A genuine interest in practical, hands-on technical work and machinery.
• A willingness to learn, ask questions and develop new technical skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow technical instructions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
The ideal candidate will be willing to start with the fundamentals, learn from experienced technicians, apply their existing electrical knowledge and gradually build the skills required to work more independently. A proactive attitude, curiosity, commitment and a genuine interest in developing a technical career are essential!
