Still ran by the Linnell Family, we're based in Silverstone, Northamptonshire, where we were founded back in 1880. Founded in 1880 by Arthur Linnell, we have enjoyed over 145 years of supplying high-quality British timber to all corners of the UK. Today, Linnell Bros occupies a purpose-built premises just outside the village of Silverstone, Northampton, just a few miles away from our original loca
tion in the village centre. Over the years, we have broadened our offering and now house a complete range of timber products. Many of these are manufactured on site in our workshop by local craftsmen using traditional construction methods. We only work with the best quality, sustainably sourced timber which is pressure-treated with preservatives in our on-site treatment plant. Today, the company is run by the fourth generation of the Linnell family. The cousins Roger, John and James Linnell, are at the forefront of the business with the next generation, Callum and Annie, coming through. An ever-growing supply chain and consumer demand has led to great increases on our capacity. Significant investment has been made in two brand-new high-pressure timber treatment plants, along with the construction of several new sheds. Our focus is to provide the highest quality UK fencing and timber at competitive prices, along with competent and knowledgeable customer support. At our site in Silverstone, we hold large stocks to avoid surplus going to waste. We run our own fleet of delivery vehicles and ensure that these are managed economically with the environment in mind. The timber we sell is from regulated forests and reputable, sustainable sources which are managed and farmed in accordance with the Forest Stewardship Council ®, FSC®, and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). This means that whenever you buy timber from Linnell’s, you can be sure it has come from a professionally managed plantation that operates within certified environmental standards.
