👷 THE LIFE OF A BUILDING SITE APPRENTICE…

6:30am — "Get the kettle on, lad."

7:00am — "Go and fetch the tools."

7:30am — "No, not those tools. The OTHER tools."

8:00am — "Go and get some more screws."

8:30am — "WHO SENT YOU BACK WITH THE WRONG SCREWS?!"

9:00am — "Make us a brew while we figure this out." ☕😂

By lunchtime, he's done 14,000 steps, carried half a ton of materials and still hasn't touched a tool.

We've all been there, lads! 🤣

👇 Tag an apprentice who's earning his stripes the hard way.

🚿 YOU KNOW YOU'VE GOT A GOOD PLUMBER WHEN…

He says, "I'll just nip out and grab one fitting."

Three hours later, he's been to two merchants, had lunch, and bought half the contents of the plumbing aisle. 😂

Then he gets back to site and realises…

He's left the fitting on the counter. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Plumbers, we love you really. Especially when you pay before asking for the trade discount! 😉

👇 Tag the plumber who's always "just nipping out".

🛠️ NOT ALL JOIST HANGERS ARE THE SAME!

Timber-to-timber connection? Timber-to-masonry? Loft conversion?

Different applications can require different hanger designs, dimensions and load capacities.

Before ordering, check:

📐 The timber dimensions
🏗️ The type of connection
⚖️ The required load capacity
🔩 The specified nails or screws

Always follow the manufacturer's guidance and the structural design requirements for your project.

Need a little help understanding the options? Our website has a useful guide to joist hangers.

🧱 A BUILDER'S MEASUREMENTS ARE A THING OF BEAUTY…

"That'll be about two metres."

Measures it.

"Two metres and a bit."

Cuts it.

"Ah, that'll do."

Realises it's 6 inches too short.

"WHO THE HELL CUT THIS?!"

😂😂😂

The tape measure was literally in your hand, Dave!

👇 Tag the builder who measures everything twice… after cutting it once.

⚡ HOW MANY ELECTRICIANS DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHTBULB? ⚡

Just the one…

But he'll need 3 trips to the van, a new tester, a brew, and 45 minutes explaining why the apprentice wired it wrong. 😂

And somehow, the lights still don't work.

No offence, lads. We know you're shocking at taking a joke. 🤣⚡

👇 Tag a spark who takes longer to explain the job than actually do it!
